Market Stall It is a concept with very varied meanings. Its etymological origin takes us to Latin postus and to a verb conjugation put . The term put, therefore, can be used to name something that has been done, decided or concreted , or to the action of leaving, supporting or storing a thing . For example: “I have put a lot of effort into this project”, "Don't you remember where you put the keys?", “We have put money for the company to get ahead”.

A position can also be a physical place occupied by a person or one institution , or intended for a certain activity: "At the Gendarmerie post they recommended that we use tire chains since there is a lot of snow on the road", “They have just opened a new clothing stand in the mall”, "Please, send me the report to my job: it is the one next to the window".

In this sense, we can say that it is customary to talk about positions when a fair is held and “shops” of all kinds arise: food, games, selling accessories ...

Also it is necessary to expose that also the positions in what are the markets take on special importance. So, whether they have a building that covers them or if they develop outdoors, they have shops of different types so that anyone can buy the products they need: fruit, meat, fish, cheese, vegetables ...

A position , a work or one function They can receive the job name: “Among the obligations inherent to my position, are controlling the quality of the merchandise and communicating with the suppliers”, “The manager announced that there is a position available in the maintenance area”, “I never thought I would get this position”.

The term post is also used within the hunting world. In this case, it is used to refer to the site, hidden with stones and branches, in which the hunter hides with the clear objective of not being seen by his prey and thus be able to shoot him calmly.

All this without forgetting the existence of what is known as a checkpoint. This becomes a space where several people, who belong to a State Security Corps or a security team, are in charge of inspecting the vehicles and the individuals that pass through it. Specifically, there are places of that kind primarily in customs as well as in military barracks.

On a symbolic level, a position is a position that an individual, a group of people or an entity occupy in a certain ranking or list. This use of the concept is frequent in the sport : "The Ferrari driver managed to advance eight places in the first twenty laps of the race", "The coach said the goal of the team is to finish ahead of fifth place", "With the loss, the capital club lost two positions in the standings".

In a very colloquial way, in Spain it is also said that someone is “put on” when they consider that their behavior and their appearance indicate that they have taken a drug, be it alcohol or any kind of narcotic drugs.
