Zone It is a concept with several uses. In this case we are interested in staying with its meaning as the sector of a surface or a land . Rural , meanwhile, is that linked to countryside .

The idea of a rural area, therefore, is linked to the territory with a small number of inhabitants where the main economic activity is agriculture . In this way, the rural area differs from the urban area, which has a greater number of inhabitants and a economy Industry or service oriented.

The rural areas are made up of fields in which the farming and is raised won . The raw materials obtained in these areas are then sent to the cities, where they are processed and consumed.

While in the cities most of the land exhibits buildings and there are various infrastructure works, rural areas have few buildings. The rural area, in this way, favors an approach to nature .

In a rural area of a country X, can live two hundred people who are dedicated to growing tomatoes and soybeans, to make cheeses from the milk they get in their drums and to raise cattle and pigs. In a city of the same nation, however, there are 500,000 people who work in the banking sector, the media and many other industries.

More and more people, unlike the majority of the population, decide to leave the big city to start living in a rural area. Why? Because they believe that this means improving their quality of life in many ways:
- They leave aside the pollution of the big cities and begin to breathe pure air.
-They are in permanent contact with nature.
-It allows them to forget about the stress, the rush and the tumults of the cities.
-It supposes an economic saving, in as much as, among many other things, it does not require having to face the very high rents of the houses in the cities and even the cost of other elements such as public transport.
-There is a closer and more human contact between the neighbors.
-Gives the possibility, in addition, to be able to feed in a healthier way, through products that are directly obtained from the earth, without intermediaries of any kind.

On the contrary, there are those who refuse to live in a rural area for various reasons:
-There are fewer alternatives at work, training, cultural or leisure level.
-Public services, such as health, are much more limited.
-Everyone knows each other, so privacy and privacy are more limited. The same does not happen in cities where each one does and undoes without anyone knowing who he is.
-The options to enjoy free time are quite limited.

It is important to mention that, in some countries, the definition of rural area is established by the law according to the number of inhabitants or other criteria. As of the establishment of rural areas, there are differentiated tax regimes, specific subsidies, etc.
