In Latin it is where we can find the etymological origin of the term verification that concerns us now. Moreover, we can make clear that it emanates from the word "verificare", a verb that is the sum of these two clearly differentiated parts: "veritas", which can be translated as "true", and "facere", which acts as a synonym for " do".

check is the check action (check or examine the true Of something). The verification is usually the process that is carried out to check if a certain thing is complying with the requirements and norms provided .

For example: “The works are already finished: now the state authorities need to go through the verification of the facilities”, "Tomorrow I have to take the car to the check so we can get on the road without problems", "The software did not pass the verification, which means that it is a pirated copy".

The notion of verification is frequent in the computing , at right and in the field of sciences usually. It can be said that verification is an essential step to verify or refute a theory or one hypothesis .

Thus, for example, in the field of computing, verification is often used not only at a professional level but also from a user level. In this way, a person who wants to open a new Google account or who already has one, will run into the fact that he is offered the possibility in two simple steps to be able to bet on the security of that one.

Specifically, this process consists of entering the established password and doing the same with a code that from the aforementioned company is sent to your telephone number through an SMS. In this way, through both elements, it is achieved that if a hacker manages to discover the password, he will find a more secure barrier because he will need to know that said telephone number to be able to access the account completely.

If a scientist creates a new type of clothing and claims that it resists temperatures exceeding 100 ° C without being damaged, he must submit said garments for verification. In this case, the action of verifying will consist in subjecting said clothing to a temperature of more than 100 ° C: if the clothing passes the test, the scientist will have demonstrated the validity of his invention and the veracity of his statements.

Verification, anyway, does not always guarantee the truth , since it can appeal to cause and effect relationships that have no correspondence. A man who lives in a city and wears a red pendant stating that said amulet prevents lions from attacking him, can postulate as verification of his belief that he was never bitten by these animals. However, the possibility of suffering a lion attack in the city is almost nil, since there are barely a few of these animals locked in zoos. Therefore, the red pendant has nothing to do with repelling lions.

In Mexico there is also what is called vehicle verification. This consists of a series of exams that every six months must carry out all the cars that circulate in the capital. In this way, what is intended is to verify that they comply with all the requirements related to gas emissions to reduce pollution levels.
